Stopped in London to run some errands just as a train was heading west out of the city. Luckily water levels in the Thames are so low you can basically stand in the centre of the river.
Anima Nipissing Lake
Last week my dad and I went up to Anima Nipissing Lake in Temagami for a couple of canoe camping days. It was the first big trip dad had taken in a cedar strip canoe he built last year, and it proved to handle and steer great in calm and choppy conditions.
Unlike past canoe trips, we chose one site further in on the lake and stayed there for the three days instead of relocating. The site we ended up on had a great view of the lake and was a good base to go out and explore the lake during the day. The weather mostly co-operated with a steady wind keeping the bugs away but bringing some choppiness to the surprisingly large lake.
Summer Trees and Train Spotting
The weather finally cooperated to get the summer photo of the six trees outside Hickson, Ontario. Back in the spring I could have sworn the field was planted with wheat, but luckily it wasn’t too hard to hold the tripod up above my head!
On the way back I popped down to the CN line in Beachville before heading up to Stratford and home.

Niagara Falls Weekend
Earlier this month I spent a weekend in Niagara Falls visiting family and hanging out.
It had been a while since I last visited the area, and I managed to get a few tourist photos before getting back to the highway traffic.
